Pramod,whose incomparable passion for art and mural painting is truly royal. Art is not merely a way to earn money, but truly a passion for him. Most of his creations decorate the interior of many houses and halls. Murals on the walls of Marian Pilgrim Centre in Kanjirapally is praise worthy and attract many people everyday. He is running an art gallery named Gathic in Kozhencherry. He wishes to carry on his creations with unending passion, by the blessings of the Guru and the Almighty God. He resides in Kozhencherry.
Kerala mural paintings are the frescos depicting mythology and legends, which are drawn on the walls of temples and churches in South India, principally in Kerala. Ancient temples, churches and palaces in Kerala, South India, display an abounding tradition of mural paintings mostly dating back between the 9th to 12th centuries CE when this form of art enjoyed Royal patronage.
In Kerala, traditionally the mural painting is done in five colours - red, yellow, green, black and white. Colours are prepared from leaves of medicinal plants and mineral pigments. Red is derived from red literate, yellow is derived from yellow literate, white from lime ( usually it is the base for painting, lime diluted in the tender coconut water), and black from soot of oil-lamps and Green from Indigofera a medicinal plant.
Cost of making a painting with natural colours is about Rs.2000- 3000 per Sq. Ft. ( Natural colours are done on prepared e- board/ asbestos sheet only , and so we need very careful when handling this type of work).
Instead of e- board and natural colours we can do Kerala murals on Canvas with Acrylic Colours( It is very easy to handle, we can roll it, easy to move one place to another) Cost of making this type of Murals about 1000- 1500 per Sq.Ft.
